"Classic Descriptions in Diagnostic Roentgenology" by André J. Bruwer, published in 1964 by Charles C. Thomas in Springfield. This substantial two-volume reference explores the pioneers and development of X-rays and diagnostic roentgenology, documenting important advances in medical imaging through historical descriptions, photographs, and drawings.

Quarto (7" x 10"). Two volumes complete, continuously paginated, with xxi, 2,059 pages. Bound in tan leather-like cloth with gilt spine lettering. Both volumes retain their original dust jackets, which have small, shallow chips along the fold edges and at the head and foot of the spines; the jackets are protected in Brodart covers. The books show virtually no edgewear, with only light rubbing to the foot of the boards. A previous owner’s name is stamped on the top edge of the text block and at the foot of the first free endpaper.

A remarkably well-preserved, substantial medical reference set, ideal for collectors and researchers interested in the history of radiology, diagnostic imaging, and the invention and early development of X-ray technology.
