Henri Carot (1850-1919) was a French stained-glass artist who worked primarily in Paris and its surroundings (see Wikipedia). He also distinguished himself as a book illustrator. In this work, he compiles simple but typical designs for stained-glass windows based on models dating back to the early Middle Ages. What makes this volume particularly interesting is that it also presents designs in Indian, Egyptian, Old and New Japanese, and Chinese styles, as well as designs in the "Fantaisie Moderne" style.
