Nader Shah, also known as Thomas Qoli Khan, was an early 18th-century Persian shah known for being one of the most powerful Iranian rulers in the history of the Middle East. And while he was powerful, his power corrupted him, and he became exceedingly cruel to his subjects. So much so that it led to his assassination by a group of a dozen or more conspirators.
