- Tall 12mo.(5" x 7.375") 2 of 3 volumes, lacking Vol. III. 334, 339 pp. Full burgundy cloth covers with black rule framing beveled boards, rear in blind. Spine with gilt lettering. Edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed with tiny loss to upper tips. Head and foot of spines chipped with small loss, covers rubbed, stained, with evident water damage. Tender hinges, strating in Vol.I with mesh visible.Vol.I curiously has a 8-line manuscript scrap of paper and portrait pasted to the reverse of the half-title which appears to have been written after the paper was pasted into book as the ink continues to the title page (see pic). And, although it appears to be an autograph of the books subject, she passed 15 years prior to publication, perhaps it being a same named relative? The inscription mentions a Bride as in "Hail to the gentle Bride" with which the inscription begins. More research needs to be done. So although this is an incomplete set of books in only good condition, perhaps it is worthwhile to research further.
