"Andersonville" by Mackinlay Kantor, published in 1983 by Franklin Library in Franklin Center, Pennsylvania, as part of the Pulitzer Prize Classics series. This large 8vo volume (6.25" x 9.5") is handsomely bound in full dark blue leather with gilt-enhanced covers and a hubbed spine with gilt decoration. It features marbled endpapers and all edges gilt, with moderate spotting along the gilt edges.

The edition is illustrated with nineteenth-century drawings of Andersonville Prison by Walton Taber, based on photographs and sketches from the Civil War period. The drawings originally accompanied an article titled A Yankee in Andersonville by Dr. T. H. Mann, and several illustrations are reproduced courtesy of the Van Pelt Library at the University of Pennsylvania.

A striking leather-bound edition of Kantor's Pulitzer Prize-winning historical novel, particularly appealing to collectors of Civil War literature, American history, historical fiction, and finely bound Franklin Library editions.
