"Duflot de Mofras' Travels on the Pacific Coast" by Marguerite Eyer Wilbur, translated edition, published in Santa Ana, California, by The Fine Arts Press in 1937. Volume II of 2 only, this 4to volume (6.5" x 10") is handsomely bound in quarter brown leather over brown textured paper boards, with gilt lettering to the spine, deckled fore-edge, and russet-colored endpapers. The title page is printed in red and black.
Illustrated with a map of the Columbia River, a map of the Port of San Francisco, and two additional illustrations. The book is printed on higher-quality paper with no foxing observed. A prior owner's name is neatly written in ink at the head of the front pastedown.
Condition includes light edgewear and lightly bumped/rubbed corners, with rubbing and tiny chips/losses at the head and foot of the spine. Boards are lightly rubbed and soiled. An interesting illustrated volume documenting the Pacific Coast, California, Oregon, and the Columbia River, particularly appealing to collectors of Western exploration and early California and Pacific Northwest history.
