Spine with four gilt decorated raised bands, gilt title to second compartment, gilt vol# to fourth, others with thick gilt rule frames with filigree corners. Gilt rule to head and foot of spine. Edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed, with loss. Covers with rubbing, scrapes, and scuffs (see pic), Vol.II's rear lower corner bent (see pic). Intermittent spotting throughout texts (see pic), some pages dog-eared. Blue oval library stamp to first free flyleaves. All edges lightly speckled brown, marbled endpapers. All in all, not a beautiful looking cover, but very nice decorative spines. French Language.
