8vo.(5.5" x 8.75") Book Club Edition. Three volumes complete in original dust jackets and slipcase. Full black cloth with green and gold gilt decoration to upper board, gilt lettering and green gilt decoration to spines.Each volumes with tinted top edge and matching endpapers. No wear to books themselves, each with its required map at rear in as-new condition. Dust covers are near fine with lightly sun-faded spines, with small .25" tears to the head of the spine to two volumes, now protected in Brodart covers. The original slipcase with lightly scuffed, rubbed bottom and some soiling. A beautiful set of this classic trilogy.

A beautiful three-volume set of J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic The Lord of the Rings trilogy, comprising The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. Published in Boston by Houghton Mifflin Company in 1978, this Book Club Edition brings together Tolkien’s celebrated epic fantasy in its complete original presentation.

Octavo (5.5" x 8.75"). Three volumes, complete in their original dust jackets and slipcase. Each volume is bound in full black cloth with green and gilt decoration to the upper board, gilt spine lettering, tinted top edges, and matching endpapers. All three books are in excellent, apparently unworn condition, with their respective maps at the rear in as-new condition. The dust jackets are near fine, with lightly sun-faded spines and small ¼-inch tears at the head of two jackets; all are protected in Brodart covers. The original slipcase shows light rubbing and scuffing to the bottom, along with some soiling.

An attractive, well-preserved vintage set of Tolkien’s landmark fantasy trilogy, complete with all three original dust jackets, maps, and slipcase.
