Oblong 8vo.(11.5" x 9") Part II - Atlas only. Quarter brown leather with corners, double blindstamp rule to all leather edges, over marbled boards. Spine with four faux bands, gilt title/date to gilt rule bordered red leather in second compartment, gilt Vol# to gilt rule bordered black leather in fourth compartment. Edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed with loss to tips, front hinge with repair, leather stained, boards sun-faded, title blocks with chips, head of spine chipped at front edge with loss. Very mild spotting towards front of text, to title page. 46 total photographic plates (plate 40 bound after 46.), most folding, all folding plates with linen backing. Largest plates measure approx. 9" x 36". A few pages with mild chipping to edge, none affecting text or image. Atlas volume to accompany Townsend's report to the 54th Congress, 1st session. Published as Senate Document 137, Part 2 - Atlas.
