The Writings of Mark Twain : Author's National Edition

The Writings of Mark Twain: Author's National Edition. 1899. New York and London: Harper & Brothers Publishers.

Large 12mo. (7-1/4" x 5") 3/4 green morocco, handsome marbled boards and matching endpapers. Slightly faded to tan spines with heavy gilt in 4 panels and 2 panels with gilt stamped author & volume number and volume contents. Volume 13 (Huckleberry Finn) has a tear that cuts down across 185. The text is still readable, but the tear is significant. Otherwise, this is an incredibly handsome set with beautiful shelf appeal.
