4to.(6.75" x 10")6 vol in 3. Full tan polished calf with double gilt rule framing covers, large gilt school crest centered to upper board, gilt armorial crest centered to rear boards. Spine with five gilt decorated raised bands, gilt title to gilt rule framed red leather in second compartment, gilt vol#'s to gilt rule framed brown leather in third compartment, gilt rule frame with fancy gilt corners framing a large centered gilt device to each other compartment, fancy gilt rule to head and foot of spine. All edges marbled, marbled endpapers. Edgewear, especially along bottom edges, head of spine to vol.II chipped with tiny loss (see pic), some leather labels to spines chipped with small loss, not affecting text, but affecting gilt frames. Covers mildly soiled, scuffed in a couple of instances, spine evidently sun-faded. Extremeties rubbed, especially the joints and raised bands. Manuscript Prize Binding Certificate in three lines to front free flyleaf of vol.I.Illustrated with over 600 cuts among the six volumes bound as three.
