Spines with double gilt rule creating five compartments, gilt author/title to second compartment, gilt vol# to fourth, others with a small gilt device centered to each, gilt rule to head and foot of spine. Edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed with loss to tips, head and foot of spines chipped with small loss, loss of color. All edges lightly speckled brown, marbled endpapers, Vol.I lacking first free endpaper and flyleaf. Large dark stain (coffee mug?) to front cover of Vol.1., boards and leather with scuffs and rubs. Prior owners name neatly to top of half-title page
