"An Inquiry Into the Nature and Treatment of Diabetes Calculus and Other Affections of the Urinary Organs with Remarks on the Importance of Attending to the State of the Urine in Organic Diseases of the Kidney and Bladder. From the Revised London Second Edition, Revised and Much Enlarged" by William Proust, published in Philadelphia by Towar & Hogan in 1826.

This early 19th-century medical work examines diabetes, calculus, and other disorders of the urinary organs, offering an interesting historical perspective on the understanding and treatment of urinary diseases.

8vo. Bound in half brown calf over marbled boards, with a five-panel spine and a brown leather label in the second panel. The spine has a rubbed border, while the front board shows peeling to the surface. Corners and edges of both boards are rubbed.

The book includes one anatomical fold-out plate after the second endpaper. There is medium foxing to the first few pages, followed by heavier darkening on some pages. The pages have darkened edges, and a bookplate is present on the front pastedown.

An interesting 1826 American medical volume, particularly suited to collections focused on early urology, urinary diseases, diabetes, anatomy, and the history of medicine.
